MONICA (Jaime Lee)

 

After being laid off from her last job, she is a freelancing journalist and writer. Married to Peter, Monica is eager to establish herself as a serious journalist. Often feeling misunderstood by her own husband, who doesn't appreciate her nomadic lifestyle, Monica is frustrated at the lack of support. Rather than trying to convince him, Monica just pushes through, jumping at the first opportunity to work on a story, even if it is a temporary job offered by an ex-boyfriend. In that process, Monica also attaches Jeremy - her longtime best friend and emotional crutch - to the project when she sees a chance. Soon, Monica finds herself in a whirlwind of an unexpected emotional shift, along with a whole new perspective on her life choices and priorities.
